old school

Guys, Tag Team had it right back in 1993.

I’m takin it back to the Old School cuz I’m an old fool, who’s so cool. And I may or may not be singing the rest of this sick jam (Whoomp, There it Is for all you youngin’ reading this).

While this fall I was crazy busy photo-shootin it up with all my lovelies and I deeefinitely wanted to share all of these beautiful images (please don’t for one second think that I didn’t’)…I have to admit that I was feeling a bit stuck when it came to my website/blogging. I couldn’t really find the look that I wanted for it and, honestly, I was feeling like it was more of a box to check off my To-Do List. Which is supes lame. Super duper beyond the land of Lame.

Because I love photography and being creative and all of the wonderful people I get to meet through it. I love being able to capture these special moments and I get ridiculously excited uploading photos from my memory cards and starting the editing process. And I definitely definitely definitely want to share these galleries because they are so incredibly special.

But when it comes to the website, I was stuck.

After a bit of soul searching, and website style revamping, and inspiration from one of my favorite websites (Design Love Fest, in case you were wondering), I was able to diagnose the problem. I forgot to include me in my posts. I tried to scale back all my random thoughts & ideas and inspirations when I first started the website.  I wanted to keep it simply profesh.  But that’s boring…and I live to abbreviate words which makes it challenging to be completely Professional. I forgot about how much fun it was to just post something on a whim. I forgot that it’s OK to be vulnerable and let people have a peek beyond my camera lens. So I am going to start including that a little more of me…not too much because nobody likes an over-sharer. But just enough.

Also, I totes got a fresh new Moleskin notebook & I have found it quite delightful. And I feel like you need a picture of Mr Bixby in your life.  I’m Old School for dayyyyyz.

Greetings! I'm Meredith Black, an Oklahoma City based photographer. Any time I'm behind the camera lens, I'm a happy camper!
